July 2026 Update
July turns the document editor into a full writing workspace with suggesting mode, math, diagrams, embeds, an outline pane and AI actions on any selection, and adds clear plan usage meters, account-level notification preferences, rebuilt image tools with HEIC support, and far more reliable team invitations.
- Suggesting Mode in Documents: Switch a document into suggesting mode and your edits appear as tracked changes that collaborators can accept or reject, so drafts can be reviewed without anyone overwriting the original
- AI Actions on Selected Text: Highlight any passage in a document and run an AI action on just that selection, without leaving the editor
- Math Equations: Write formulas directly in a document with proper mathematical typesetting
- Diagrams in Documents: Flowcharts, sequence diagrams and other diagram types now render from a code block, so a diagram lives beside the writing that explains it
- Link Embeds: Paste a link from a supported service and it expands into a live embed inside the document instead of a plain URL
- Media and File Attachments: Drop images, video and files straight into a document as their own blocks
- Document Outline Pane: A new sidebar tab lists every heading in the document so you can see its structure and jump to any section
- Find and Replace: Search a document and replace matches without scrolling for them
- Collapsible Headings: Fold a heading to hide everything under it and keep long documents navigable
- Named Document Versions: Give a version a name like "Client draft" so version history reads as a story instead of a list of timestamps
- Turn a Comment into a Task: Convert any document comment into a task, keeping the discussion linked to the work it created
- Live Word Count: The editor header shows a running word count as you type
- Image Alt Text: Add descriptive alt text to any image in a document for accessibility and for readers on slow connections
- Block Background Colours: Tint an individual block to call out a warning, a note or a decision
- Branded Link Previews for Documents: A shared document link now unfurls into a branded preview card, and documents tied to a brand show that brand in the editor
- Plan Usage at a Glance: A new usage view shows how much of your plan you have used across workspaces, projects, team members, brands, palettes, gradients, Brinks and AI credits, with a status widget on your dashboard home and meters on the pages where you actually spend
- Brink Subscriber Limits: Your Brink subscriber count is now metered against your plan, so you can see how much room you have before you need more
- Notification Preferences: A new Preferences tab under notifications lets you decide which updates reach you in the app and by email, with a switch to pause non-essential email entirely
- Emoji Picker in the Editor: Type a colon to search and insert emoji inline while you write
- Project Visibility Control: Choose whether a project is private or visible to the workspace at the moment you create it
- Brink Heading Source: Pick which name shows as the heading on your public Brink page, rather than being locked to one field
- iPhone Photos in the Image Converter: HEIC and HEIF photos straight off an iPhone now convert, instead of being rejected as an unsupported format
- Batch Conversion You Can Trust: The converter and compressor now show real per-file progress rather than a spinner, tell you exactly why a file failed, keep failed files in the queue so you can retry them one at a time without restarting the batch, and let you download everything as a single ZIP
- Image Tool Settings on Mobile: Conversion and compression settings are now reachable on a phone instead of being cut off the screen
- Less Wasted Reconversion: Changing a setting only reconverts the files it actually affects, and files already in flight are left alone, so a small tweak no longer restarts the whole queue
- Load an Image by URL: Pulling an image into the tools by URL now works against sites that block direct browser requests
- Better Palette Exports: Palette PDFs now carry Braandly branding with a footer that is no longer cut off, the colour extractor exports palettes the same way the picker does, and the extractor shows a proper placeholder instead of an internal file path
- Invite a Whole List at Once: Paste or type comma-separated addresses when inviting people, get a clear per-address result instead of one all-or-nothing error, and see exactly which address was rejected
- Resend and Track Invitations: Resend a pending invitation from the members list, see at a glance which invitations are close to expiring, and get a clearer screen when a link has already expired
- Move Tasks Between Boards: Move a task back to the general workspace board, and task activity now records where a task came from and where it went
- Clearer Upgrade Path: When an action is blocked by your plan, the prompt now explains which limit you hit and what upgrading changes, instead of a generic error
- Plan-aware Create Actions: Creating something you do not have room for now tells you up front rather than failing after you have filled in the form
- Subscription Status Wherever You Are: A slim status strip now follows you across the app when your subscription needs attention, rather than only appearing on the billing page
- Per-workspace Limits: Palettes, gradients and Brinks are now counted per workspace instead of across your whole account, so one busy workspace no longer eats another's allowance
- Do More Through the API and MCP: Connected apps and AI assistants can now browse brand categories and industries, set task order and assignees when updating a task, read a brand's social and custom links, set a Brink's social links and status, and fill in the fields each Brink block type actually needs, with catalog search that matches names regardless of casing
- More Help Content: Twenty-six new help articles covering plan limits and AI credits, switching between monthly and yearly billing, brand categories and industries, projects, tasks, documents, Brink, real-time collaboration, and troubleshooting for billing, exports and one-time codes
- AI Credit Clarity: Credit costs are shown from a single source at the point you spend them, so what you are quoted matches what is deducted
- Updated Pricing Page: Refreshed plan details with period-aware AI credit figures and a payment method recommended for your region
- Notifications You Can Act On: Notifications can now carry a direct link to the thing they are about, and the unread badge on the bell reflects the real server count
- Sidebar Remembers Where You Were: The sidebar keeps its scroll position as you move between pages, and nav items stay highlighted when you are on one of their sub-pages
- Steadier Public Documents: Public documents open straight into their finished state, with no loading flash and no sign-in prompt shown to people who are already signed in
- Larger Documents Save: The size ceiling on document saves was raised, so long documents with plenty of media no longer fail to save
- Document Editor Stability: Fixed white screens when leaving or reopening a document, a crash on certain public documents, and lost edits during live collaboration
- Manage Your Subscription: The Manage button now opens the correct provider portal, only appears when your provider actually has one, disappears once you have cancelled, and upgrades route to the provider your subscription is on
- Checkout for Team Members: People who belong to a workspace but do not own one are no longer blocked from checking out
- Corrected Pricing Claims: Removed pricing statements that contradicted the plan limits they described
- Task Detail Panel: Fixed the Link Docs dropdown rendering off-screen or behind other elements, delete-item styling, and list overflow inside the task detail modal
- Image Converter PDF Output: Converting images to PDF now renders real pages instead of producing a broken file
- Dropped Files Counted Twice: Dropping a file onto the converter no longer adds it to the queue twice
- Before and After Comparison: The compressor's before and after slider now lines up correctly and reports the true original file size
- Passing an Image Between Tools: Sending an image from one tool to another is now one-shot, so reloading the page no longer brings back a file you had already removed
- Honest Error Messages: The image tools no longer blame an out-of-memory error they cannot actually confirm, and report what really went wrong
- Task Activity: The All Activities list now scrolls in its own panel instead of stretching the page, avatars stopped flickering when a panel closes, and a moved card records where it came from and where it went
- Sidebar Links on Non-workspace Pages: Fixed sidebar links pointing at the wrong place on pages like Support, where the sidebar mistook the page name for your workspace
- Recovering a Failed Invitation: If accepting an invitation fails, you can now retry from where you are instead of being stuck on a dead end
- Board Steadiness: Stopped the board, header and theme toggle flickering or resetting when a task panel closes, and removed a flicker when reordering by drag
- Project Membership: Fixed role enforcement and integrity issues when moving tasks between projects, and made new projects private by default
- Default Board Columns: Fixed a race that could leave a new project with missing or duplicated default columns
- Public Brink Pages Loading: Fixed an error that could stop a public Brink page from loading at all for visitors
- Brink Link Previews: Brink links shared on social platforms and in chat apps now unfurl with the right image and profile details, replacing previews that showed a missing image
- Brink Profile and Links: Uploaded profile images now persist on save, social handles containing dots work, the social icon picker returns results, chosen link icons all render, share URLs drop stray query parameters, and line breaks in your bio display as written
- Brink Appearance Builder: Fixed theme-mode preview and block ordering so what you see while editing matches what visitors get, including after undo
- Brand Text Formatting: Line breaks in brand descriptions and taglines now render instead of collapsing into one paragraph
- Archive Warning: Archiving a brand now states the 30-day window before it is permanently removed
- Uploads: Fixed an image upload authentication failure
- Toasts and Banners: Capped toast width on narrow screens and re-centred the offline and status notifications, which had drifted off-centre
- Profile Page: Fixed avatar background bleed and made the Most Recent Tasks list scrollable by keyboard
- Support Links: Resource cards on the support page now open the right help centre category
- Session Expiry You Can See: When your session ends you now get a clear notice and a clean return to sign-in, instead of silent failures on the page you were using
- Reliable Social Sign-in: Signing in with Google or Facebook now matches your existing account correctly, including when you have used more than one provider
- Signing In From an Invitation: Following an invitation link and signing in now keeps you on the invitation instead of dropping you on a generic page, and expired or malformed invitation links are identified clearly
- Enhanced Account Security: Further hardening across sign-in, form submissions, public Brink pages and shared links keeps your account and data better protected
- Invitation Delivery: Reworked the email pipeline behind invitations so messages retry properly and stop being silently dropped, with the whole queue reprocessed for anyone still waiting
- AI Generation Reliability: Brand generation now retries, falls back and times out sensibly instead of hanging when the model is slow or unavailable
- Faster Recovery from Outages: The service now recovers cleanly from fatal errors rather than staying up in a broken state
- A Much Faster Homepage: The marketing homepage now paints its first screen without waiting on the bulk of its JavaScript, defers sign-in and analytics scripts off the critical path, renders below-the-fold sections up front and brings them to life as you scroll, and no longer jumps around as fonts and banners load
- Lighter Public Documents: Read-only visitors to a public document no longer load the full editor, so shared documents open faster on slower devices
- Accurate Credit Renewals: A monthly reconciliation now catches any renewal that failed to top up your AI credits, and new accounts signing up with Google or Facebook reliably receive their starting credits
- Compact Sidebar: The plan widget collapses to a single row, the footer is shared and slimmed, and the mobile drawer no longer inherits the desktop sidebar's state
- A Calmer Dashboard: The plan card stays out of the way until your account actually needs your attention
- Steadier Marketing Pages: Fixed remaining layout shift across the marketing site and trimmed what each route loads, so pages settle instead of shuffling as they appear
